Deep Dive 2.0-1

Welcome to the second iteration of the Denver Deep Dive! As social beings, systems play a major role in our understanding and experiences of the world around us. Through conversation with public school alumni, we learned that they would like to better understand the intricacies of varying systems, gain tools and connections that will help them make substantive impact in these systems for not only themselves, but for the generations to come.

The Denver Deep Dive seeks to fill this gap as we organize alumni from the Denver Metro Area to create a learning environment where community members explore, learn, and connect knowledge about the city of Denver. Hence, we can collectively create the lifecycle of Denverites. The program seeks to further develop the future leaders of Denver to better understand the city they live, work, and play in and the importance of leveraging their social capital to navigate the city’s different systems.

WHAT TO EXPECT

During this experience, our intention is for alumni leave with a deeper understanding of systems they have navigated throughout their experience in the Denver Metro Area. They will be equipped with the skills, resources, and connections to influence and have a meaningful impact on said systems.

We will learn the many ways in which one as a Denverite can be civically engaged throughout the city. The preposition is to explore civic engagement in the city through the K-12 education system, post secondary education, and socioeconomic mobility. At the conclusion of this program, its participants will be able to create a personalized civic engagement plan, so they can build agency within the community to make an impact in the city that raised us.
